Cheap Fuel

I’ve added a Cheap Fuel Near Motorway Junctions map to the Useful Sites & Tools page.

If anyone thinks it’s worth carrying on with and has any favourite locations for reasonably priced fuel just off a motorway or major trunk route then please send me an email.

I probably should have called it ‘Fuel Near Motorway Junctions That’s Not Quite as Extortianate as at the Motorway Services’ to be more honest.

Cheap Fuel

I was vaguely thinking it might be worth the effort to put a map together showing cheap petrol stations near motorway and major trunk route junctions.

Does the modern satnav enabled courier already have this sort of information available to them or do they rely on knowledge and luck like I used to?

Would it be a worthwhile waste of a few hours of my time?

Courier logic?

I’ve just rung a ‘Network’ member to do a job. He said “I’m a bit short of money so…”

Can anyone guess the end of the sentence?

I need couriers in the following areas

Try – ‘Directory’, ‘Goods To Move’ and ‘yell.com’

Now then, don’t take this as a criticism, I’m just wondering if you’re a bit confused about something. Yesterday you were stuck with a ‘Backload’ from (if I remember correctly) IP3 to IP4 with (I think) a 1 hour delivery deadline.

Now by posting that as a backload I would say that you’ve virtually guaranteed that most people would ignore it.

Could you share your thinking about posting it as a backload? Presumably you were hoping to save some money, but how much could you hope to save on a minimum charge job like that?

I’m not having a dig, I’m trying to help and being a little bit nosey.

Rangers fans in Manchester

It’s nothing to do with football, it’s just instinctive tribalism, same as when you’re a kid you fight against the kids in the next door school or the next door estate. It’s the same as a group of chimpanzees fighting with a neighbouring group – it’s built into the human psyche and there’s really very little that we can do to change the situation short of forcing every boy in the country to pass a psychology exam before they’re allowed to leave school so that they can understand, and attempt to control, their actions.

Road Tax (VED) for small vans

That’s my understanding of the situation Lawrence. In fact I’m surprised that your earlier vehicles are taxed on emissions to start with since there are no official CO2 emissions figures for them.

Advice with late payment….

Just a point when charging interest on late payments……..your not entitled to it if they are a small business.

More bullshit. The law changed in 2002 and it now doesn’t matter what size either party is.

Accepting Scottish Banknotes

IAMAFool wrote:
Just to do an Alec….Anyone can refuse scotish notes, they are private bank notes and even though it is legal tender you do not have to accept it.

FACT.

Hardly ‘doing an Alec’ since you’re wrong again.

Scottish bank notes aren’t even legal tender in Scotland, never mind England. Only coins are legal tender in Scotland.
