Cheap Accounts Package Anyone?

Microsoft Office Accounting Express

I’ve not used but I’ve had a good look at it and it seems to cover the basics quite nicely.

    And it’s free.

Otherwise you’d be best going for whatever your accountant is familiar with.

I’ve used Quickbooks for 14 years but if I was starting again I wouldn’t use it. It’s easy enough to use but it does have some serious limitations – the biggest one being the attitude of the company behind it. Most accountants don’t use it or understand it properly and you can end up paying for your accountant to re-enter your figures into Sage so they can work with them.

Having said that, I think Sage is overpriced, overcomplicated c**p foisted onto the business community by accountants keen to cash in on reseller incentives from Sage.

The freeby Microsoft package looks good to me, integrates well withh MS Office and offers an upgrade path to a more advanced version when you need it. That’s all irrelevant if you can’t find an accountant that can produce your accounts from it though.
