Late Payments – Are Credit Cards the Solution?

You can do a chargeback if he doesn’t perform according to contract.

What’s more common though – jobs being done to such a low standard that you could legitimately withhold payment or people paying late?

I reckon that half the people posting jobs on here today will be out of business by this time next year, so Dave’s probably got the right idea.

What about the threads entitled ‘Late Payers’, ‘Gone Bust’, ‘Liquidation’, “What happened to…..”, etc?

Credit is given far too freely on here, to businesses with little or no trading history.

I don’t think they do Stephen, except when you actually dispute that the transaction took place. I could be wrong though.

Come to think of it, it’s the the Consumer Credit Act that allows you to do a chargeback on a credit card for an unsatisfactory service and I don’t think that would apply to a transaction where the cardholder was a limited company. Again I could be wrong.
