Zen, they might cost a few £ more but it’s worth it. IDNET are very well thought of as well. You get what you pay for I’m afraid – you’re never going to get consistent top quality support on a budget package.

It doesn’t work like that any more though Nick. The lines are owned and maintained by BT Openreach – BT Retail (or BT Broadband or whoever) are just another customer. Ofcom regulations prevent Openreach from giving preferential service to other bits of BT – in fact they fall over themselves to be seen to be treating other providers equally; so much so that BT customers are often treated worse than non-BT customers.
