Self-employed multidrop driver

That’s a ridiculous price for mutidrop work to start with, without the extra hours. 15 years ago I was paying owner-drivers £120 day rate in a SWB transit, in Manchester.

If times were hard I could go out tomorrow and charge £180 a day multidropping in a LWB. There’s no shortage of well paid work for competent multidroppers, particularly in the South East.

ADR UN1263 – limits?

It’s all paint, resin, varnish etc. The flash point determines the Transport Category and the Transport Category determines how much you can carry with just ‘awareness’ training.

Without ‘awareness’ and access to a DGSA you can’t carry any quantity at all UNLESS it’s packed in LQ packages – and paint etc is often (but by no means always) packed in LQ packages. The shipper should be able to tell you. If it’s in LQ packages then it’s outside the scope of ADR and you can carry what you want; in the UK anyway.

Customer gone bust

Put yourself in his shoes; would you really let your employees do that to you and just walk away? I agree with Gerard. The guy’s either a liar or he’s not telling you the full story.

Is it a limited company or a sole trader?

It’s grim up North.

0930 on 2nd July and it’s so dark that the streetlights have come back on. And it’s raining harder than last week.
