Don’t you think they should be kept for longer than that though? Although you’ve probably got terms that attempt to limit the time in which they can claim, your customers theoretically have up to 6 years to raise a claim against you. More importantly your customer may not have any terms preventing THEIR customers from raising a claim against them up to 6 years after delivery of the goods.

Best practice is to keep the entire paper trail for every job for at least 6 years.
