That’s a ridiculous price for mutidrop work to start with, without the extra hours. 15 years ago I was paying owner-drivers £120 day rate in a SWB transit, in Manchester.
If times were hard I could go out tomorrow and charge £180 a day multidropping in a LWB. There’s no shortage of well paid work for competent multidroppers, particularly in the South East.

It’s the regular ‘in house’ owner-drivers with their own runs that tend to get fined for unjustified exceptions. It also tends to depend on whether the company thinks that you need them more than they need you.
