One rule for some ‘Network’ members…

You can’t chat in case you say something that’s NAUGHTY.

Take the thread where Chris and Gary were saying that they’re leaving because they don’t earn enough out of ‘Network’ to justify the subs……well actually you can’t take it because someone already has.

Now just before it was removed I’d started writing a rather long-winded reply which might just have persuaded one or two of the quitters to stay. The thread was removed so now ‘Network’ will just have to muddle through without the contribution of one of their strongest supporters……

Is there REALLY anyone that makes less than £8 per week out of our ‘Network’ by the way?

I meant owner-drivers actually Mark – but I find that astonishing. Apart from anything else you’re THE man in Exeter and we MUST have covered your subs for the last 2 months just on the 2 jobs; I reckon you’ve just about covered ours.

Are you not putting your RJs on then Mark? With that many vehicles you must have vans clearing all over the country – how can you get so few alerts?

Only about 1 in 5 of the jobs we get rid of on here go on as GTMs, the rest we get rid of through scouring the RJ page or just by ringing members in the area. I very rarely put a GTM on in your area, I either catch someone on a RJ or now I ring you.

Owner-driver Bronze Subscription with alerts but without ‘Network’ Mobile or Euro is £35 per month I think? Can’t be bothered checking for now – £35*12/365*7= 8.05.

Look, I know it’s boring and it’s all been said before, but…

Grumpy old sod. Dave’s got a present for you by the way. You can only have one of them free of charge – but just compare the quality! lol

Trust me Mark, you don’t want one or need one – but you might like to look after some. Remind me next time we speak.

  6. I see both Dave & Darren awarded themselves a day off today. It must be nice to be able to take Fridays of with such regularity…….

  7. Maybe Julian would be less grumpy if he took every other Friday off, like Dave & Doreen.

  8. Never mind NAMING a slow payer – CHARGE them. You’re allowed, by law, to charge them a minimum of £40 for every invoice they pay late. If every courier company did that to every late-paying end-user then there’d be no more late payers. If we all agreed to do this to EACH OTHER then maybe we’d all focus more on the PRIORITY of paying each other on time.

  9. It goes without saying that I agree with Julian as well, even if he is a grumpy old moaning sod. An owner-driver shouldn’t have to employ a credit control department just to get paid: there isn’t a margin included in owner-driver rates for those type of expenses and companies should respect that and behave accordingly.
These late payers are just SCUM and don’t deserve treating with any respect. Bill them for late payment charges every time – it’s all they deserve.

  10. Doesn’t Matter if they do – they’re still liable for the late payment penalty and any interest on the original amount. Have a good look through this website: http://www.paylate.co.uk/
Late payment charges are particularly good for making an extra profit out of one-off jobs for major multinationals and government departments. They always pay late for one-offs, always pay the late payment charges eventually and don’t seem to blacklist you when you apply the charges.
